About Me

I'm a Three Rings engineer working on Whirled. I spend a fair portion of my time trying to whip our technical documentation into shape and talking to our developers.

Current projects

  • Add standardized exclamation boxes (with nifty icons) to pages that need work, in some way that's automatically indexed. Find people who can look at the auto-generated index and fix the pages. Types of problems include:
    • Examples obsoleted by UI changes to Whirled
    • Links to old forums (requires investigating the closest equivalent on Whirled, or deletion)
    • Code examples that doesn't conform to our standards/requirements
    • Code examples that simply don't work, likely due to old SDK compliance
  • Decide on a couple of different types of pages and try to maintain a certain look & feel for each such type -- possibilities:
    • a short page that e.g. introduces a term, summarizes a concept, summarizes some kind of entity... with links to related categories and more in-depth information
    • a long page with lots of meat on a specific subject
    • tutorial and walk-through type pages
  • All pages should have an infobox to categorize and group pages and provide lateral navigation
